Martin D-28
Dreadnought acoustic guitar
The Martin D-28 is probably the most legendaric acoustic guitar. Chris Martin, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Jimmy Page, Michael Hedges, Tommy Emmanuel, they all have used a Martin D-28 on some of their recordings. It's a beautiful sounding dreadnought guitar.

The D-28 is considered to be a very good guitar for playing chords, and has a very good balance to play fingerstye music too. It features a nice, solid bass and a sprankling high end. It can be used in almost any situation, on stage, on the couch or even on the beach.

This guitar has been on the market since the thirties, although it has changed over time. The version which approximates the original version the most, is the Martin HD-28.
The top is made out of sitka spruce, as well as the braces. Indian rosedwood is used for the back and sides. The fretboard is ebony. The Martin D-28 is also available as a lefthand version, as well as a 12 string version. There is also a version with mahogany back and sides on the market, but that one is called the D-18.
